As is our tradition, there will NOT be a December Meeting.  Instead, SnoVARC will have the annual holiday dinner.  Members and their significant others are welcomed to join us. Our presenter is Dave W7UUU from Burley, WA.  He’s been licensed since 1974 and active for most of that time.  Tonight’s program is an educational and entertaining look at limited-space and/or HOA antennas.  The basic types and concepts are shown in a short segment to explain each, followed by a 3 minute video with actual SSB audio of 8 such antennas compared back-to-back with rather astounding results.  It’s a fun presentation whether you live in an HOA or have acreage with towers.

Bill, N6NBN, presents “what3words”, an easy way to describe any precise location. It divides the world into a grid of 3 meter squares with each having a unique address made from 3 random words.

John Beaston, K7TY, presents how their regional communityhas successfully integrated GMRS & Ham into an effective emergencycommunication system & gives pointers on how other communities coulddevelop their own.

Michelle Thompson, W5NYV, presents “AI in amateur radio”. Michelle is the CEO at Open Research Institute. This presentation is not technical, rather it covers AI achievements & intersections between AI & amateur radio.

We will focus on preparation for Field Day, an annual amateur radio exercise occurring the fourth full weekend of June. The goal of Field Day is to encourage emergency communications preparedness among amateur radio operators.
