IV. Committee and Task Force Reports

Repeater Task Force:

Cougar Mountain Repeater – Tom met with John Clark (Communications NW field rep). John verified that the repeater is operating on wideband, is transmitting at 40 watts, the power supply is good and the repeater in general is operating well. All repeaters should be on the same firmware version. Cougar and Myers are on the same firmware now. Firmware verifications will take place.

Myers Repeater – no changes – nothing to report

Carnation Repeater – no changes – nothing to report

Emergency Planning and Mobilization:

EYEWARN – Rowland is ready to load new scripts into groups i/o. Rowland went to a three-day focus group to observe guest speakers and network with others who participated in the Partners in Emergency Preparedness focus group. None of them ever heard about EYEWARN, but were interested in what Rowland told them.

Some items that the club should be focusing on: The USB solid state drive needs a lockbox, we need internet connectivity to the Myers and Carnation repeaters, EYEWARN has been received well and there is little interest to include GMRS radio into SNOVARC.

Education and Community Outreach:

Ham Tech class – Will start in September or October.

Ham Development and Rookie Roundtable – no change

Carnation Space:

Status of Carnation space equipment move – no change

Status of Equipment Inventory Project – no change

V. Old Business

King County Badging – All caught-up.

Marketing – no change

Mini Drill – (EYEWARN) We will continue to perform drills utilizing the latest EYEWARN scripts and keep improving our EYEWARN net skills.

Field Day at Evacuation Hill – Colin will be the Safety Coordinator, we still need people to perform logistics, site oversight, food, tarps, and b/u power requirements.

VI. New Business

Tom proposed, and all the attendees agreed, that the club will provide the first 20 dollars to a club member who wants to purchase any clothing that has the SNOVARC logo from Sandy’s Duvall’s Dazzling Designs store located in Duvall. This is a one time offer on one item from Duvall’s Dazzling Designs.

Tonight’s SNOVARC face-to-face monthly meeting ELMER Session – Anthony (K8ZT) will discuss: “Technicians, Life Beyond Repeaters”.

Meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
