As of 5/7/24 there was $7,391 in the treasury and SNOVARC had 36 dues paying members for 2024. Two major expenses decreased the amount we have in the treasury: Multimedia Circuits and Systems ($1,598) for the Myers repeater and a new battery ($628) for the Cougar Mt. repeater. Thank you very much to Kirt for your Microsoft matching funds.

IV. Committee and Task Force Reports

Repeater Task Force:

Cougar Mountain Repeater – DTMF issues still exists. Shawn still working on ARCOM controller. Shawn will contact Ken (ARCOM representative) to see if he can assist Shawn to figure out the problem.

Myers Repeater – There is no battery back-up at the Myers repeater because the equipment is connected to a back-up generator. The internet connection has been made. The Pi box is ready to be activated. We still need IRLP equipment.

Carnation Repeater – Nothing to report

EYEWARN – Renaming to “unusual event” on WINLINK forms.

Education and Community Outreach:

Ham Radio Tech Class – SnoVARC continues to work with Dave (LWHC) on Tech license testing. Tom and Rowland are assisting on monitoring test takers.

Thursday Night Roundtable/Ham Development – No change.

Equipment Inventory Status: No change.

V. Old Business

Status of Club Shirts – Sandy’s Duvall Dazzling Designs has 9 shirts just about to launch real soon. Vests, jackets, caps are all coming later.

VI. New Business

To stimulate new membership and to allow GMRS radio operators to participate and assist their community during a disaster when EYEWARN is activated, the SNOVARC leadership is seriously considering setting up a GMRS repeater. Three things were discussed that the group felt is necessary: 1. A permanent location for the repeater. 2. A specific mission/goal for GMRS radio operators to encourage the desire to join the club. 3. A club goal to encourage GMRS users to take the Technician’s test and become a Ham radio operator.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
