The meeting minutes from the meeting that occurred on February 4th, 2025 were approved.
III. Treasury Report and Financials
As of 3/04/25 there is $7,652 in the treasury. Revenue collected from member dues and donations was $100 and we currently have 23 members. This is 9 fewer members than we had as of the March 2023 meeting.
IV. Committee and Task Force Reports
Repeater Task Force:
Cougar Mountain Repeater – Replacement repeater is still under test at Tom’s (WA7TBP) home.
Myers Repeater – Operating well. The club is planning to link Cougar and Myers together over IRLP. Mike (KJ7JNG) informed the club that the Trilogy Amateur Radio Club (TARC) would volunteer personnel to assist with the installation of IRLP into Myers and that the TARC members would fund the cost of the IRLP equipment.
Carnation Repeater – The plan is to move the repeater to Chuck and Lindy’s home. Tom requested that Lindy, Chuck, Rowland and Tom get together for a pre-installation meeting to decide where to place the equipment.
Emergency Planning and Mobilization:
EYEWARN – Rowland (K7RWB) will be creating a Power Point presentation that will utilize “special spotters” to provide vital information during an emergency to identify “weak links” within transportation routes in the area affected during an emergency. Rowland has been in contact with the KC ARES team to develop a process that will allow EYEWARN personal to deliver critical information via radio to the KC ARES team.
Education and Community Outreach:
Thursday Night Roundtable/Ham Development – The Roundtable Net has changed into a “check-in” Net since many of the Hams that do check-in are seasoned ham radio operators.
Equipment Inventory Status – No update.
V. Old Business
Status of Club Shirts – Sandy’s web problems have been solved, but Mike reported that when he tried to order a cap with the SNOVARC logo, no one called him back for details. Tom will contact Sandy to see if her website’s issues have been resolved.
Field Day discussion – This year Field Day will be at Valley Camp. There will be a fee to park your RV on the property. The costs to park your RV in Valley Camp will work out to be less than all the costs to bring a porta potty and keep a generator providing power for the weekend. Valley Camp has electrical outlets available, showers and bathrooms available. The expense to use Valley Camp will be lower than previous years. While there will be no upfront costs to use Valley Camp, SNOVARC, IARC, and Issaquah CERT should make a donation to Valley Camp.
VI. New Business
Mike and Key swap meet will be held on Saturday, 3/8 in Puyallup. The club will not be selling any equipment for sale at the swap meet. Those attending hope to see other SNOVARC members as well as others they have not seen for a while at the swap-meet.
VII. Open Discussion
On 3/6 there will be a Elmer Session in the Duvall Fire Station and over Zoom. The topic will be GO KITS. Please bring your go kits to the Elmer Session to show others your go kit and share your good ideas with others.
Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m
