Monthly Meeting Minutes
July 1st, 2025
I. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Rowland at 7:00 pm on Zoom.
Members in attendance were:
Kirt (K7KDW) – Vice President, Lindy (KG7IFA) – Treasurer, Mike (KJ7JNG) – Secretary, Ken (W7ECK), Rowland (K7RWB), Larry (AF7RW), Bob (KI7RMO).
II. Approval of Board Meeting Minutes
The meeting minutes from the meeting that occurred on June 3rd, 2025 were approved.
III. Treasury Report and Financials
As of 6/30/25 there is $7,466 in the treasury. The club just purchased ARRL Liability insurance for $200 and we received $435 for Kirt’s volunteer hours for far this year. Membership remains at 29.
IV. Committee and Task Force Reports
Repeater Task Force:
Cougar Mountain Repeater – Ken’s reset switch was put to good use. The repeater had to be reset twice. Once on 6/9 and another time on 6/23. The replacement repeater is still under test at Tom’s (WA7TBP) home.
Myers Repeater – The club is planning to link Cougar and Myers together over IRLP. Ken said the internet is there, but we need to find someone who can utilize Linux coding to program the raspberry pie.
Carnation Repeater – No change.
Emergency Planning and Mobilization:
EYEWARN – Greg Bawdon has taken over leadership of the team. A power point presentation was created in preparation to show to other teams.
Education and Community Outreach:
Thursday Night Roundtable/Ham Development – No changes since last meeting.
Equipment Inventory Status – No changes since last meeting.
V. Old Business
Status of Club Shirts – Mike purchased a hat with the SNOVARC logo.
Field Day – Was spectacular and the weather was beautiful.
Unused Equipment Sale – No change.
VI. New Business
Roland working with his new neighborhood team on Emergency Preparedness. He is keeping his knowledge in check until he becomes more familiar with the current team.
VII. Open Discussion
No Elmer meeting in July due to the holiday. Rowland would like to get Ed Fong to be the guest speaker (over Zoom) during the August 6th Elmer session.
The Issaquah Team just activated a new GMRS repeater on Blakely Hall. The repeater has excellent coverage. The Issaquah Team is considering putting together an emergency GMRS radio plan between the GMRS repeaters in Issaquah, Providence Point and Trilogy.
