Monthly Meeting Minutes
February 3, 2026
I. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Tom at 7:00 pm on Zoom.
Members in attendance were:
Tom (WA7TBP) – President, Kirt (K7KDW) – Vice President, Lindy (KG7IFA) – Treasurer, Mike (KJ7JNG) – Secretary, Ken (W7ECK), Rowland (K7RWB), Konstantin (KK7KO), Bob (KI7RMO)
Club President Nomination:
Tom called for nominations for the office of SNOVARC Club President. Tom reminded everyone in attendance that he will not be running for SNOVARC Board President during the 2026 elections.
Tom called out three times asking if anyone wanted to nominate themselves, or any other club member, to be President of the SNOVARC club. No one nominated themselves or nominated any other member to be club president. Tom wants to hand the Club President duties over to another member. Tom will continue to serve as Club President until another club member is chosen by a special election.
Tom asked the attendees if they wanted to nominate anyone to be the SNOVARC Club President, they can email him (Tom) or Mike, the Club Secretary with their nominations.
II. Approval of Board Meeting Minutes
The meeting minutes from the meeting that occurred on January 6th, 2026 were approved. Tom made the motion to approve the minutes. Mike seconded the motion. All members voted to approve the minutes. Motion passed.
III. Treasury Report and Financials
As of 02/03/26 there is $7,264.49 in the treasury. Membership remains at 31, including 7 new members. Members who do not pay dues by May or 2026 will be dropped off the roster. Tom made the motion to approve Lindy’s Treasurer’s report. Mike seconded the motion and all members approved. Motion passed.
IV. Committee and Task Force Reports
Repeater Task Force:
Cougar Mountain Repeater – Working well.
Myers Repeater – Working well.
Carnation Repeater – Working well.
Ken has been monitoring voice transmissions between Myers and Cougar repeaters and noticed that Larry (AF7RW) transmission during the Trilogy Saturday net was muffled and had a lot of static. Mike explained that Larry sometimes experiments using various radio equipment while leading the net. Mike was on the net and heard the same things that Ken heard. Mike believes that the repeaters, both Myers and Cougar are working well as linked repeaters.
Emergency Planning and Mobilization:
EYEWARN – Exercise was very successful. Presentation to the LWHC planned for 2/14/26
V. Old Business
Equipment that is in storage and not being used and is not planned to be used in the future:
- Rarely does anyone want old equipment.
- The club does not know if all the equipment is in fine working condition.
- Recommendations by attending members:
- Offer the equipment to club members for a low cost or for free
- Offer the equipment to the Issaquah Club for low cost or for free
- Dispose of the equipment by dropping it off with a qualified electronic recovery facility/company
VI. New Business
Next Elmer session is on Thursday, February 5th at 6:30pm – Zoom only.
Possible King County EOC tour: Can only take place in March or April on a Saturday. Is anyone interested in attending the King County EOC tour?
