Snoqualmie Valley Radio Club
Monthly Meeting Minutes
January 6, 2026
I. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Tom at 7:00 pm on Zoom.
Members in attendance were:
Tom (WA7TBP) – President, Kirt (K7KDW) – Vice President, Lindy (KG7IFA) – Treasurer, Mike (KJ7JNG) – Secretary, Ken (W7ECK), Rowland (K7RWB), Konstantin (KK7KO), Larry (AF7RW)
Club President Nomination:
Tom reminded everyone in attendance that he will not be running for SNOVARC Board President during the 2026 elections.
Tom called out three times asking if anyone wanted to nominate themselves, or any other club member, to be President of the SNOVARC club. No one nominated themselves or nominated any other member to be club president. Tom reminded members they could contact Tom or Mike with their nominations.
II. Approval of Board Meeting Minutes
The meeting minutes from the meeting that occurred on December 2nd, 2025 were approved. Tom made the motion to approve the minutes. Mike seconded the motion. All members voted to approve the minutes. Motion passed.
III. Treasury Report and Financials
As of 01/06/26 there is $7,264.49 in the treasury. Membership remains at 31. Tom made the motion to approve Lindy’s Treasurer’s report. Mike seconded the motion and all members approved. Motion passed. Mike requested that Jim (KK7ZON) and Roger (KK7KBI) dues that were submitted in later 2025 be counted for 2026 because Mike made the mistake of telling those individuals that if they joined later in the year, that it would count for 2026. Everyone agreed.
IV. Committee and Task Force Reports
Repeater Task Force:
Cougar Mountain Repeater – The ground hum is gone, repeater sounds great.
Myers Repeater – Repeater works great, users must use their inside voice when using the repeater (Mike Forte Bocca – please take note). Tom will drop off the thermostat wall plug adapter to Ken for placement inside the Meyers Repeater cabinet.
Carnation Repeater – Working well.
Emergency Planning and Mobilization:
EYEWARN – Great interest. Action Item – Mike to find out who is presenting on 2/14 to the LWHC
Badging Permissions – Rowland would like to know if any SNOVARC member would like a KC Volunteer badge. To acquire a volunteer badge from KC, the applicant will have to allow KC to perform a criminal background check on the applicant. The badge also protects KC as well as the badge holder with insurance coverage in case the volunteer is injured while performing volunteer duties for KC.
V. Old Business
Net Controllers Needed – Rowland informed the attendees that a new list has been published for 2026 and Greg is a new Net Control and will hold his first SNOVARC Net on 1/8/26.
VI. New Business
Next Elmer session is on Thursday, February 5th at 6:30pm at Duvall Fire Station 166.
2026 Field Day – Tom will reserve space at Valley Camp for the annual Field Day exercises.
Mike asked if Ham Radio FCC license holders in the Trilogy can use 145.59 simplex, (no tone) for a back-up frequency if the repeaters are down. Mike received approval.
Meeting adjourned at 8:14 pm
