Monthly Business Meeting Minutes
July 7th, 2026
I. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Tom at 7:00 pm on Zoom.
Members in attendance were:
Tom (WA7TBP) – President, Kirt (K7KDW) – Vice President, Lindy (KG7IFA) – Treasurer, Mike (KJ7JNG) – Secretary, Ken (W7ECK), Kirk (KK7RVP), Bob (KI7RMO), Rowland (K7RWB), Larry (AF7RW)
II. Approval of Board Meeting Minutes
The meeting minutes from the meeting that occurred on June 2nd, 2026, were approved. Tom made the motion to approve the minutes. Mike seconded the motion. All members voted to approve the minutes. Motion passed.
III. Treasury Report and Financials
The SnoVARC bank balance as of 6/30/2026 was $6,858. The club spent $142.00 of a fox hunt transmitter, and the club received a Microsoft donation (Kirk White) of $112.50. Current membership total is 48. Tom made the motion to approve Lindy’s Treasurer’s report. Mike seconded the motion and all members approved. Motion passed.
IV. Committee and Task Force Reports
Repeater Task Force:
Cougar Mountain Repeater – Working well.
Myers Repeater – Audio still a little “messy” and Ken will look into making adjustment when he has some spare time.
Carnation Repeater – Downtown Carnation, Stillwater and Fall City sound good, but not beyond those towns. Tom would like to perform a few tests to increase the repeater’s RF footprint. Lindy and Tom’s house, Tom’s house and placing a 30 foot mast, with a lower gain antenna are all under consideration.
Emergency Planning and Mobilization:
EYEWARN – There is another EYEWARN meeting scheduled for 7/27.
KC Emergency Badges – Rowland will launch another email asking if anyone needs a KC Volunteer ID badge.

VI. New Business
AccelNet went down on 7/2 at 1pm that caused the Cougar and Myers repeater link, as well as IRLP and ECHOLINK to go down. Getting Tech Support and a dispatch to the site was difficult (July 4th weekend was approaching). AccelNet returned to service after Ken provided AccelNet Tech with access to the site. The club needs to remove Shawn (K7ATA) as an access contact because AccelNet called Shawn for access to the site. Since Shawn has moved to another town, we need to consider someone else as an access contact. Possibly Ryan in the future?
Valley Camp Field Day Feedback – RF Propagation was not good. FT-8 worked well. Voice communication was poor. Could not pick up any signal on 220 Mhz. Five members of the Issaquah CERT team participated. Before Field Day, it was discovered that the rotor on the tower was mounted upside down. A new rotor was installed and is working correctly. There will be no stress on the coax or the rotor control cable now.
Motion: Rowland made the motion to make a $500 donation to Valley Camp for hosting the Field Day exercise. Mike seconded the motion and all attendees approved. Motion carried.
Bunny Hunt – Experienced some issues with the transmitter. The signal strength was too high, which made the transmitter’s location hard to pinpoint.
July 4th crowd and traffic management. Volunteer ham radio operators assisted with traffic management on July 4th. Traffic seemed to be lighter than in other years.

Motion: Bob made the motion to end the meeting. Mike seconded. All attendees agreed.
