April 2024 Meeting Minutes
Snoqualmie Valley Radio Club
Monthly Meeting Minutes
April 2nd, 2024
I. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Rowland at 7:01 pm on Zoom.
Members in attendance were:
Kirt (K7KDW) – Vice President, Lindy (KG7IFA) Treasurer, Mike (KJ7JNG) – Secretary, Rowland (K7RWB), Colin (W2COL), Ken (W7ECK), Shawn (K7ATA), Henry (AI7WN), Ralph (KC7QXD), Larry (AFTRW)
II. Approval of Board Meeting Minutes
The meeting minutes from the meeting that occurred on March 5th, 2024 were approved.
III. Treasury Report and Financials
As of 3/27/24 there was $10,933 in the treasury and SNOVARC had 32 dues paying members for 2024. Member rosters are posted on the club’s groups.io. Lindy needs to know when and on what date any equipment has been installed so she can start depreciating that new equipment. If the equipment installed is less than $250.00 Lindy does not need to know because she will not depreciate any club hardware that costs below 250 dollars.
IV. Committee and Task Force Reports
Repeater Task Force:
Cougar Mountain Repeater – The electrical socket that had been giving the repeater power supply issues has been repaired. DTMF tone issues still exist and Shawn continues to troubleshoot the issue.
Myers Repeater – Ethernet cables have been run to the repeater cabinet. Ken is working to establish an IRLP link to the Myers repeater. The property owner is happy with the paint job and that makes the club members happy too.
Carnation Repeater – The new controller has not been installed yet, still waiting for parts. The City of Carnation is in no rush to move the equipment out of the repeater’s current location in City Hall. Rowland mentioned there is a possibility we may get space in one of the new Carnation City Hall buildings. Time will tell…..
Emergency Planning and Mobilization:
EYEWARN – Colin presented the club with the forms he has been working on for the EYEWARN incident reports. Forms look very sharp. Colin said he is still working on finishing up the forms, but so far, the forms look very good.
Education and Community Outreach:
Ham Radio Tech Class – SnoVARC continues to work with Dave (LWHC) on Tech license testing
Thursday Night Roundtable/Ham Development – Little interest in the roundtable because there is not many new Ham radio operators in the club. Hands on training and discussions are taking place.
Equipment Inventory Status: No change.
V. Old Business
Status of Club Shirts – Sandy’s Duvall Dazzling Designs is having difficulty with their embroidery machine correctly embroidering the SnoVARC club logo onto shirts. Sany is looking into the problem.
VI. New Business
Ralph (KC7UXD) requested that the club reestablish the requirement to check-in via WINLINK during the Thursday night check-in net. Rowland mentioned that only Paul and Ryan can access the club’s WINLINK mailbox. And because the mailbox has not been active for over a year, WINLINK has probably suspended the account. Since Paul and Ryan are no longer active in club business, the responsibility should be assigned to a club member who can maintain the club’s WINLINK mailbox and then the club can request members check-in once a week, via WINLINK, to become familiar with using WINLINK and to test their equipment.
Meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
