Monthly Meeting Minutes
December 3rd, 2024
I. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Tom at 7:00 pm on Zoom.
Members in attendance were:
Tom (WA7TBP), Kirt (K7KDW) – Vice President, Lindy (KG7IFA) Treasurer, Mike (KJ7JNG) – Secretary, Ken (W7ECK), Colin (W2COL), Henry (AI7WN)
II. Approval of Board Meeting Minutes
The meeting minutes from the meeting that occurred on November 5th, 2024 were approved.
III. Treasury Report and Financials
As of 12/01/24 there was $7,295 in the treasury. Thank you very much to Kirt for your Microsoft matching funds of 131.25. We made a large repeater purchase that cost $2,300. SNOVARC has 46 dues paying members for 2024, as well as 6 dues paying members for 2025.
IV. Committee and Task Force Reports
Repeater Task Force:
Cougar Mountain Repeater – New KENWOOD repeater and ARCOM controller are now at Tom’s QTH and are in the testing mode. The Tech Committee will have a repeater and controller workshop at the Lake Joy Fire Station before the new equipment gets installed at the Cougar site. After new repeater install at Cougar, we will send the existing Cougar ARCOM controller back to ARCOM to be updated so all controllers have the same upgrade level.
Myers Repeater – No changes
Carnation Repeater – If there is no space in the new Carnation City Hall, will be relocated to Chuck and Lindy’s home.
Emergency Planning and Mobilization:
EYEWARN – Tested with EFR and it was successful.
Education and Community Outreach:
Thursday Night Roundtable/Ham Development – No changes.
Equipment Inventory Status – Tom has added some equipment.
V. Old Business
Status of Club Shirts – Tom will contact Sandy for a status.
VI. New Business
SNOVARC Holiday Dinner – Ixpata in Redmond Ridge December 5th at 6pm.
VII. Open Discussion
Tom would like to start peer-to-peer testing over WINLINK. Most members agree this would be a good test.
Tom would like to have more face-to-face meetings to bolster attendance. Meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m
